Q switch at The Clifford clinic
All my life, I have been concerned about my dull skin, so when Dr Chow Yuen Ho from The Clifford Clinic suggested for me to do the Q switch laser to rejuvenate the condition of my skin, I was pretty stoked! It was my first time doing any laser so I was pretty nervous but because of his calm demeanour and knowledge, I knew I was in safe hands!

Layout of the clinic
Armed with excitement, I went down to The Clifford Clinic at Raffles Place one afternoon.
The staff at the clinic assigned me to this comfortable area to wait for the doctor. There were magazine and warm water for patients. Soon after, I went into the doctor's office where I told him my concerns such as having dull skin, in which he explained Q switch laser would be most suitable for me.
What is Q switch laser?
- One of the most technologically advanced, FDA approved laser
- Able to remove of both superficial and deep hyper-pigmented lesions
-enables the skin to look finer, smoother, brighter and clearer up to 3-4 weeks after treatment
-boost collagen and elastin level in your skin
After all the explanation, I was guided into another room to remove my makeup.

I was very amazed by the variety of makeup removers they provided, that they were meticulous enough to take into consideration the needs of people with sensitive skin. The pretty flowers there really lifted up the mood too!

Comfortably being covered up with blanket and a cute little squishy bolster to hug! During the process, the doctor explained about the benefits of Q switch, and that it was usually done as a "downtime" procedure for office ladies. This laser can get rid of freckles, acne scars, large pores, Melasma, acne, and even Vascular lessions.
Did you know? the Q switch laser can also be used to remove tattoo!
Of course, this is not a magical laser so regular visits and some time would be needed to upkeep the effect of the laser!

As mentioned, the laser required no downtime, so I went home bare faced after the Q switch laser. If you look carefully, you can see that there are small red area at the side of my face. This is very normal and the redness disappeared by the time I reached home. If you are concern about this, you can bring along some concealer to dab over and return to office afterwards.
Was it painful?
Personally, I would rate the pain to be 1/10. Although people have described the pain to be like rubber band snapping on your skin, I did not feel the pain to be that kind of intensity. Rather, I felt a stinging sensation nearer to the upper lip. Other than that, I was not that much affected.
I did not know whether it was due to the Q switch laser but when I was in Korea, my most stubborn blackhead that has been on my face since I was a teenager actually popped out so my itchy hands went to squeeze it. Miraculously I managed to squeeze the whole blackhead out!
